Restaurants and Cafes
Restaurants
As the world’s most diverse city with nearly all the world’s countries represented in New York City, it is no surprise then that New York would also have an amazing assortment of cuisines to satiate the palate. From Chinese to Italian to Greek or Japanese, if you can think of it, most likely New York will have it. For a general guide and personal reviews of New York City restaurants, visit:

Alternatively you can just randomly try a local restaurant, especially if you are in an ethnic enclave such as Chinatown. A good way to judge the authenticity is just to look at the patrons, if they are local; chances are the food is authentic.
Cafes and Desserts
As the hundreds of cafes and bakeries dotting the streetscape would suggest, New Yorkers love their coffee. After your meal, take a walk and look around, you’ll be sure to find all sorts of cafés including Italian, Greek Ukrainian and even Chinese cafés. Try a New York cheesecake or a tiramisu at hundred year old establishments or take out to go a cappuccino while you tour the city. For a list of some New York cafes and coffee bars see here:
